i have a notion that Self is an idea that comes about at a certain level
of biological static quality. this bothers me because plants arrive out
of that same level, and because i said "Self is an idea."
nevertheless, it seems like Self is the driving factor in [especially
animal] life. well, look at it this way: a species survives for its Self,
even if it is argued that animals don't eat and mate for their individual
selves... (i guess plants "eat" nutrients and water and sunlight to make
their lives meaningful by reproducing, too...)
i think when we talk about Self, we ar talking about the cognition of
Self, mostly. otherwise, i see some intriguing (but sticky) parallels
between Self and Quality. these parallels also arise with awareness,
which has something to do with Self...
hmmm.... these are incomplete (incoherent?) thoughts for the chewing...
