Ken and Rob and Horse and David:

Ken,
I (Roger) agree that the autopoiesis web pages are written terribly. After
much surfing, I finally found a great intro to much of their concepts. Go to
the first parts of each of the following pages. The author establishes a
clear background to the theory before diverting off onto his own ideas. These
are very readable......

I only vouch for the first three sections of the first site (stop at 7
Attractors), and the intro to the second. Beyond that are a lot of the site-
authors own theories -- though some are quite interesting. The beginnings are
very clearly explained concepts to the self forming theory of life. You can
also surf the links to some writings on Fuzzy logic, society, etc.

PS Ken -- I agree that there is no "center" to the self . As to the age of
this self developing, I wonder if it is related to the age at which we can
remember our earliest thoughts. Most people can't go much before 4 or 5 years
of age.

And yes, I view mystical reality and DQ and direct experience as synonymous.
