Hi Glove,

I've been thinking about what you said. You write in response to my
suggestion that the four levels of MOQ go in a different direction
then the set of value patterns known as the 7 chakras: you say, "I'm
not so sure (they do). This strikes me as being one of those "multiple values
without contradiction" you also spoke of. I think it can looked at it both ways
or either way and if you look at it correctly, the same result can ensue.

We can certainly look at the four levels as a totem pole of its own.
If one were to clear the mind and look at the world with the fresh
perspective of a small child, one would likely find oneself in a
relation between Dynamic Quality and the inorganic level of value.
>From the outside, an eastern master might say; "wonderful, the child
is in touch with the subtle life currents!"

An eastern master who sidelines as a computer programer might then
come along and say; "yes, wonderful, let us now watch the child who is
in touch with the subtle life currents load his biological, social and
intellectual programs and come alive with a basic operating system for
life!"

So if we were brought up by the MOQ, we might even develop a more
natural realization of the 7 chakras. What this suggest to me is that
raising children is something very easily botched. We aren't cued in
properly in respect to DQ, the subtle energy of the inorganic level of
values and the biological and intellectual patterns that arise from
that. We hardly have our basic operating system functioning properly
before we are stamped with biological do's and don't's, social rules
and a ready-made picture of the clock with all of it's intellectual
divisions of time. The result is that DQ gets suffocated and we end
up with a tendency to become static automations.

You also raised some good points about the chakras. Are higher
chackras more important then lower ones? Is it important for the
chakras to be in sync? What I can tell you from my own experience is
that there are moments when they are in sync and pure DQ is very
evident. I just feel very good at those times, in peace and very much
aware. That is very different then the feeling of DQ that arises in the
loins when I see nude women, or the feeling of DQ that comes when I'm
ready to pounce on some query, or the intoxicating feeling of DQ when
my heart is aroused, or the thrill of shaping sound, images or
mathematical constructions.

It seems like DQ is like a stream where water-greedy residents
at the various levels all want more then their share! I guess this
means that to keep the water flowing properly, we need
some method of inducing cooperation within ourselves while affixing each
of the "centers of processing" to the source. I think that's what the
science of yoga is all about. And understanding the MOQ is very
helpful to that purpose. Robert Pirsig said that he hadn't really come
up with something new, but that what he was talking about went back
very far.
