Beware of false prophets... yes I agree with you that mysticism, if being
talked about, is not mysticism. Logic is a chain to our already
pre-conceived notions, each of them dependent upon the weakest point. At the
same time, Pirsig seems to point to a degeneracy of denial that results if
we do not at least try, even though our notions may be half-baked. Would you
say that mysticism as you understand it to be by-passes the modally weakest
point in the chain of logic? instead, focusing on the "whole"? If so, is
there any way of reconciling these seemingly conflicting points of view? Or
is any attempt futile in the end? I see mysticism as a deeply personal and
individualistic "thing" that can only be practiced. Yet still, this
knowledge is passed on in some fashion, there's no denying that. Where is
the connecting point?
