One of the things I enjoy about this group is that it has forced me to
express myself better. I realized now the best thing to do is use
concrete, real-life examples. So I will.
As I have said before, I believe law is part of society, the State is
part of biology and can expand only by destroying law and society.
Now here's some real-life examples.
Let's go back to the beginnings of the U.S. Had the law, which is to
protect life, liberty and property, had done so, slavery would have
instantly been ruled illegal. Over 200 years of very bad problems would
have never been.
Now let's jump to the Civil War. It is a myth it was fought to free the
slaves. The reality is the North was using the State to crush the South
economically--violating the three Laws of which I spoke. The result was
600,000 dead.
Slavery and the Civil War are the two of the worst scars in America.
Both were caused by the biological State violating Law, expanding and
thereby destroying Law and Society.
Now let's jump to WWI. Thomas Jefferson called Europe 'nations of
eternal war' and he and the rest of the Founding Fathers suggested
staying out of their biological mess.
However, Woodrow Wilson, a believer in the biological value of
democracy, used the biological value of the draft to enter the war,
thereby ensuring Germany's defeat.
It is a myth the Germans were solely responsible for WWI. The Allies
were just as guilty. After the war, the Allies, using their States, used
the biological value of revenge to crush Germany economically.
The German State responded by hyper-inflating the money supply, to pay
off the Allies with worthless money. Inflation is also a way the State
steals citizens' money. The main result of State inflation is
destruction of the economy and therefore society.
At the same time, in the U.S., the State, in its infinite wisdom, was
causing the Great Depression, which was 100% caused by the State
interfering in the free market.
The Great Depression spread world-wide--including to Germany. On top of
the already bad economy caused by their own State and the Allied States,
the Germans, after 15 years of having Law violated, went insane and,
using the biological value of democracy, elected Hitler and the Nazis to
power. Hitler and the Nazis then gained complete control of the State
and we were off on WWII.
Meanwhile, back in the U.S, Franklin Roosevelt was using the biological
power of the State to violate Law concerning Japan. After several years
Japan's State bombed Pearl Harbor and the U.S. was off on WWII.
Result: tens of millions of dead. All caused because Law is part of
Society and the State is part of Biology. And people couldn't tell the
difference.
Now let's jump to after WWII. The value-centered Austrian economic
school had been making headway. Unfortunately, States began to believe
the Great Depression was caused by the free market.
They turned to the economic thought of John Maynard Keynes, who believed
the inorganic laws of math and physics could be pasted on top of the
economic laws of Society, enforced by the State.
Didn't work.
The result has been wild gyrations in the U.S. economy and therefore
Society. Many foreign economists were trained in Keynesianism, with
predictable results in their countries.
The value-centered Austrian school is routinely ignored and denigrated.
There are maybe three schools in the U.S. that teach it. They don't
believe the inorganic laws of math and physics can be pasted on top of
the economic laws of society, which are then enforced by the State.
Now let's talk about education.
The U.S State decided to steal people's money (taxes) and use it to fund
college education. Some interesting things happened.
The amount of college graduates increased dramatically. As they flowed
into the workforce, businesses in response excluded non-graduates from
jobs. As a result, colleges graduates now make twice what non-graduates
do. Not because of competence or intelligence...only because of State
meddling in education.
I was once in a management training program that required a college
degree. I found the job was such a high-school drop-out could have done
it. The pay, after one-and one-half years, was about $30,000 a year. All
non-graduates were excluded. Also, only one out of 15 college graduates
complete the training program, because the extreme lack of intelligence
involved.
I used to be a newspaper reporter and editor. These jobs now require
college degrees. In reality, a degree is not required. In the past,
there were no communication degrees. People started as 'cub' reporters
and worked their way up.
I saw some interesting things. My paper, a weekly, was owned by a
medium-sized daily. The editor of the daily was a Harvard
lawyer--grossly overqualified. Made maybe $60,000 a year.
Had the State not funded college education, there would have been no
communication degrees. All reporters would be non-graduates. The
enormous pressure of these people to be promoted would force newspapers
to cease hiring Harvard lawyers to run papers. This means high-school
graduates, working their way up to the top, would make $60,000 a year.
Which is what used to happen in the past.
Because of this enormous State founding of college education, and the
very high State salaries for college professors, many people of marginal
intellect were drawn. Many Ph.ds were awarded to people of
medium-Quality intellect. (The Ph.d in Education here is a complete
joke.)
The result has been a diminishing of college teaching at public
universities. We now have such ridiculous fields as Black Studies,
Feminist Studies, and Queer Studies. None are concerned with
'discovering' the nature and stucture of reality. All believe they
already know them and are attempting to use the power of the State to
paste them on top of Society.
A basic economic law of Society that any economist knows is that when
the State tries to enforce laws against people's values a black market
will always spring up. The State is helpless. This is why the U.S has a
castastrophic black market for drugs. And if the State tries to outlaw
firearms or cigarettes, as it being tried now, there will be a
catastrophic criminal black market in them.
Let's take where I live, which is St. Louis, Mo. USA. A few decades ago
the State decided to desegregate the public schools. (which had been
segregated by the State in the first place.) Children were bussed and
taxied all the hell over the place.
Parents responded by pulling their children out by the thousands and
putting them in private schools, because they didn't want their children
traveling two hours round-trip.
The schools, segregated by race, were now not only segregated by race,
but now by income level. Parents who couldn't afford private schools
left the area.
At the same time the State decided to equalize incomes by stealing
taxpayer money and giving it to 'poor' people. They ignored the
'discovered' law that most of the 'poor' have bad characters. Which is
why they're 'poor.' (I was raised in a working-class, blue-collar
steel-mill town. I know all about the bad characters of the 'poor.')
The result of this was an explosion of out-of-wedlock births. The boys
grew up with no fathers and formed predatory biological gangs. (The is
why the word 'bastard' has two meanings--a fatherless boy and a cruel
heartless man. They're the same thing.)
Crime skyrocketed. The public schools became unsafe. People fled the
city by the tens of thousands. The tax base shrank. The State raised
taxes to cover the losses. Businesses fled. One I remember fled four
miles, across the Mississippi, into Illinois. He said, "It was either
leave or go under.")
The result, because of State violations of life, liberty and property,
is a city that has lost half of its citizens. The public schools are
short over 100 teachers because few wish to work in them. Abandoned
buildings are everywhere. Crime is rampant. Citizens carry concealed
hand-guns (I was in a room once where all four people in it had guns on
them. All were very peaceful people.)
And this scenario had played itself out in every large city in the U.S.
And all because the State violated the three Laws.
When it comes to the State and law, most people have a surface,
emotional, Romantic view. They lack the Classical understanding. This
is, why, in this country, liberals are referred to a 'fuzzy-minded' and
'knee-jerk.' They lack the Classical understanding. (By the way, I'm not
a conservative.)
The great myth of the 20th century is the State is a god and by passing
a law, reality will change. The reality is the State, being biological,
is a devil, and can only expand by destroying Law and Society.
This fits perfectly with the MoQ.
