Dear Mary and Squad,
I decided to put this on MD rather than E-mail Mary directly because I
thought there might be others out there who are experiencing the chest
infection which is going around. It is a chest infection that just hangs on
accompanied by excessive coughing.
I have learned that if one uses Peppermint Schnapps (I use Rumple Minze
and it works well) it will allay the coughing as well as add a little
alcohol that perhaps kills a few germs). Just sip enough to bathe the
throat in. I take a small glass to my bedside table. It stops the cough and
gives the throat time to heal as well as helping to loosen the phlegm in
the lungs. Works like magic. Hope this helps. Certainly gives one control
of the coughing and beats the Dr. prescriptions. Ken
