Fellow Pirsigers: I have to tell the story here, because no one else
would be interested. My wife and I had dinner with her parents recently.
During our conversation I learned that both of them had known Doosenbury
(sp?) and most of the other folks mentioned in connection to Pirsig's
time in Montana. (Its a small town.) My mother-in-law even worked as a
secretary for the women who asked the catalytic question, "Are you
teaching quality?" As secretary she typed the letters to Pirsig during
the hiring process. I assume they never met the man himself. They
wouldn't have left that part out, would they? Uh Oh ! Gotta make a
phone call... (foot steps fade)
