Dave: Good. Barbara Tuckmann(spelling) supports your correction. I don't think however that Arabs are as keen to draw national boundaries as you are. They think of the land, the land of the sword, the land where Allah rules. Isn't that much what American Indians think and even present day Africans in Africa? Europeans love to draw boundaries. Natural born surveyors. You are well informed, a good resource. Let me tap you. 1. Were the ancient Hebrews any different than any other Semite group in the Crescent? 2. While visiting Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and the desert, I was told that the Orthodox, seen everywhere in ostentatious piety while avoiding military service, dressed in the style of the Polish nobility of the last century? True? 3. I have read that genetically, anyone called a Jew in Europe cannot be distinquished from the population in general. Along these lines, I was startled to see Chinese Jews looking exactly like the San. And in Israel, black Jews from Ethiopia. I also understand that Afro-America
ns who descended from slaves have at least one-eighth white genes now. I draw the distinction because a black on Cape Cod who worked for my aunt bragged that his people were never slaves, having come from the Cape Verde(spelling?) Islands. With all the immigration in the U.S. now, we are seeing what black really looks like. Those white genes have turned black into tan.

Just to put my two cent in again, there is a misconception that the
Jewish people took over part of an Arab state after the holocaust.
This is not supported by the facts. There were Jews living in (what
was then called Palestine controlled by the British and encompassed
what is today Israel AND Jordan). In fact, the Jewish people were
promised all of Palestine by the British. This was reneged upon and
most of "Palestine" (what is now Jordan) was given to an Arab prince.
So, instead of all of Palestine, the Jews were given (and even that's
a bad choice of words...it'd be like saying the American goverment is
giving the reservation land to the Native Americans) a smaller section
of what had traditionally been their homeland.
