I guess I define "friends" as those with whom I share a mutual fondness.
Really truly good friends include long-time committment and a deep
experience. Those with whom I share those attributes are ones I consider
friends.

Sometimes you have to wait a long time to find out who your true friends
are, and sometimes you recognize them instantly.

I wonder how the MoQ classifies friendship? There are friendships on the
purely social level and there are friendships on a deeper intellectual
level.

Analyzing "friendship" in an abstract way - friendship seems to be about
the highest quality relationship you can have. You can be married, but if
your spouse isn't your friend then you don't have a very good relationship.

Each friendship is very unique and seems to have its own unique patterns -
social and intellectual. Friendship is a path of dynamic quality on the
social level in that when you find something really excellent, you pass it
along to your friends.

I don't think you can have too many true friends. I also observe that
celebrity often murders friendship. When people become symbolic of some
larger pattern in society then the humanity gets lost. Its hard for kings
and presidents to have friends.

People who have lots of friends are usually the happiest. Friendship
doesn't really cost anything except time and caring... so it should be an
easily obtainable treasure. Yet most people express a lack of caring
friendships in their lives. I wonder why. What's the problem here?
