I agree that there are many things we take on faith, but disagree that this must be so or that
we cannot live without faith. Much depends on your definitions and how you use the term.
I would describe faith as:

A state of mind that leads people to accept something in the total absence of supporting
evidence.

Which, I suppose, has much in common with dogma. Belief however is a completely
different kettle of fish and could be seen in many instances as faith that has been
questioned.
