Hey all,
Just a little (pointless?) "insight" I thought I'd share:
As I was thumbing through the pages of the Tao I came across a passage which
begins:
"The Way gives birth to them and integrity maintains them."
Without going into the nature of the mysterious "them"....my MoQ sense
kicked in as I read this and what I saw was:
"The Way (DQ) gives birth to them and integrity (SQ) maintains them."
Which lead me to the idea that the term "Integrity" is a perfect substitute
(if not superior term) for "Static Quality". It has dual meanings alluding
to both (a) staying power (i.e. ...the hull of the ship is maintaining its
integrity, Captain.) and (b) morality (i.e. ...Martin Luther King was a man
of superior integrity.)---
In fact, my dictionary defines Integrity as --- Adherence to a code or
standard of values. (There are other definitons but they're all related to
this primary one).

I've sometimes felt that the terms "DQ" and "SQ" could give the erroneous
impression that there are two "Qualities." But using the term Integrity
there's no need for "Static Quality" at all... SQ becomes the INTEGRITY of
Quality (in different "forms")... (i.e. Inorganic Integrity, Biological
Integrity, Social Integrity, Intellectual Integrity). And there's only one
thing being called Quality (which would of course be DQ... which would no
longer need the D).
Maybe it was obvious.... just thought I'd mention it.
It's all Good,
Rick
