Hello Dan, hello all,

I have read an article about the same issue this evening, I guess. And to me too
it appeared to be the 'memes' that could be seen in the whales singing. What was
so obviously astonishing, was the fact how fast the new singing spread in
between a whole population, just like a new madonna-song or whatever is
spreading all over the world soon. ;-)

Yes this is for me also DQ at work. I guess we and also many animals have this
predisposition to something new or at least a change and a tendency to avoid
constant situations

but I have not yet found out what exactly is a meme, how can it be an
independent entity? Is it spreading, say, just like a virus, having a life on
their own?

Discordance? Hmm, maybe Kenneth can give us a thought, concerning this specific
example.

I have another, which I remember right now. I was watching the clear sky, the
sun starting to disappear over the 'Baunsberg' (A small mountain, when looking
out of my window) and several swarms of wild gooses heading for 'vacation'. I
was wondering if it is also the memes, that make them flying almost synchronous?
It is always amazing to watch them!

Thanks for taking the time,

Regards to all,
