Hello John, Platt and All!
This all appears a bit Cartesian to me?
'I' is a story; a fiction post DQ.
The implication of this understanding is a move towards enlightenment, not
truth; truth is an invention of intellectual patterns.
If one drops the buzz of thought, 'i' disappears.
The 'one' doing the dropping here is largely a product of language; a
narrative.
Some narratives are better than others.
The narratives that free life to develop are the best of all.
TURN THE PAGE!
All the best,
Squonk. :-)

surely the one thing I cannot doubt, that there is a 'looker' that goes on
to have ideas about things. The truth about oneself is more real than the
truths of science. (This seems to be Pirsig's position, too.)
