Hi Hugo,
It's good to hear your thoughts...

Those who advocate a total break from the past may not realise just how much
of it they may recreate anyway?

Some of the most valuable people in society are those who have experienced
and learned from life; static in a sense.
Aristotle makes this point; it is the beginning of his search for a
definition of Eudaemonia: what constitutes living well?
Also, the mavericks and contrarians present dynamic.

This may sound like a bit of a contradiction?
But Aristotle observes in his Ethics the annoying habit of people eating in
theatres and making a nuisance of themselves and thus not exercising self
control; nothing really changes it seams! ;)

Balance appears to be the order of the day, and this may mean putting static
patterns to sleep through ritual: The Jazz musician practises ritually so
that when he becomes dynamic he does not have to think about what he's doing.
I am all for stasis as a preserver of dynamic mediation.

Your trip to Dublin sounds wonderful.
I spent a few days there some years ago and i shall never forget it; most
dynamic.

Hope this makes sense?

All the very best,
Squonk.
