Stephen Miller, "His Sheedness" and Robert D.
(a PS for Jeremy Kirouac)

Stephen Miller says re. the 5th level question.

It's the "weak dynamic force" that transcended all static levels and
will be involved if/when the intellectual walls are to be lept, but the
escape will not be to freedom but to a new static yet better level.

I do however agree that it is implicit in Pirsig's work that the Q-idea
somehow is a "5th level" of its own making, but he DOES say that
it is an intellectual pattern (along with the SOM). Before I could
reply "His Sheedness" forestalled me and asked for references
...so now we wait for Stephen to inform us.

Robert D. remarked (to me or to Stephen?)

Exactly, mind/matter is the best known off-shoot of the SOM and if
(as in my SOL interpretation) the S/O division is the "intellectual
level" of the MoQ and the MoQ supercedes the SOM ... ipso facto
...the Q-idea is somehow a budding new 5th level!

Sorry for this late reply. Due to my peculiar way of reading the MD
posts I did not notice it until this morning.

Wish we all had the wisdom of realizing our limits :-). However I will
be on the lookout for inputs from you on this subject, am not sure if
your poem brings the point across to this most prosaic person.
