I'm not completely sure what i would have the US do about Tibet. I do think
that the UN should find China guilty of human rights violations over there,
send peacekeeping troops to give the Tibetans back their homeland,
recognizing it as an autonomous nation, and reinstate the Dalai Lama as the
Tibetan leader. Of course that must sound naive; China's army is enormous
and they might even start a war over this. They have so many people in their
country that I'm sure war would be a welcome population reduction for them.
But I believe that by simply doing nothing to prevent Chinese occupation of
Tibet, we are sending the message that China and other countries are free to
oppress religion by way of force.
I think we are clear on our stances now and consequently understand each
other better.
