Excellent point. I've kicked this around in my mind many times. The only
thing that makes me think the esthetic may be a fifth level is that it has
been "latched" by great art. When I stood before Vermeer's
painting"The Artist's Studio" in a recent exhibition at the Metropolitan
Museum in New York, I thought, "DQ." Later I was reminded that "what
is most important about art is what cannot be said about it," a direct
connection to Quality's characteristic of being "beyond definition."
There is no way to intellectually explain the visceral appeal of
Vermeer's painting.
Anyway, I've always relied on esthetics to explain the most difficult and
most interesting aspects of the MOQ. That's why I'm so pleased that
you and Denis seem to have the same appreciation and reliance on
the tuning fork within us that hums when we stumble on something
beautiful.
