Hey Platt and Erin,

PLATT:
Ah so, a fine answer--except to our space-time quantum friends who
define an event as a point at a certain place at a certain time relevant to
an observer. Intervals need not apply.
Personally, I go with Saint Augustine on the riddle of time. He said,
"When I do not ask the question, I know the answer."

rick:
Ah yes, our quantum friends--- Well, how about if we define 'event' the way
Pirsig defines 'Quality event'. Remember ZMM's pre/post-intellectual
dichotomy? Notions of geography (place) and chronology (time) are
post-intellectual; They flow in the wake of a stroke of the analytical
knife. Q-events are pre-intellectual. They are the very thing the
analytical knife is cutting and thus cannot be defined by notions of time
and place (or anything else for that matter). So maybe... no quantum
physicists need apply? And as for Mr. Augustine.... I guess we'll have to
take his word on that.

ERIN:
....Reminds me of Leonardo da Vinci's
"The moment has no time"

rick: Ohh... I like that quote.

ERIN:
...."Time is that quality of nature which keeps events from happening
all at once. Lately it doesn't seem to be working."
Anonymous

rick: I like that one too... In fact, Anonymous is favorite of all the
Greek philosophers (drum roll.... cymbal crash).

ERIN:
synchroncity'd out in kent

rick: England?

the time is gone,
the song is over,
I thought I'd something more to say....

For those of you don't get out much, the closing quote is Roger Waters.
