I'd say ZMM is definitely more of the "type" of culture-bearing book that
Pirsig describes (in his afterword to the 1984 edition of ZMM) than LILA.
While it has since become known that both books were meticulously planned
out, down to each paragraph, ZMM has a looser feel to it than LILA. As for
other books, one recent book's title perhaps makes it relevant to your
request for other culture-bearing books: "The Twilight of AMerican Culture"
by Morris Berman. Good book.
