Hi Marco (and Platt and David and Wim),
I too have admired the thread and your 1st 3. I tried to suggest a fourth
but encountered a brain freeze...
So, instead, I will just say that I think Newsweek is fairly centrist in the
US. It is definitely to the right of Time. As for US News and World Report,
that one used to be to the right, but I am not sure any more.
I will say that I find Newsweek to be to the right of CNN and the 3 major US
network TV news shows. There is a newer 24 hour station in the US called Fox
News that is WAY to the right of all of these that has recently overtaken CNN
in the ratings. I am not sure if the country shifted right recently (I
suspect it has, considering), or if people just find the difference from
leftist leanings refreshing.
Of course, I remain a centrist-leaning-toward-libertarian myself, but I value
the struggle in both directions. I guess I believe in the dialectic. Either
party would screw it up if given half a chance, but together...who knows?
Keep up the great writing and I will keep up the reading. Oh, also feel free
to add any insights to Wim's and my 6 month Progress discussion. I think you
will respect his vision too.
Rog
PS -- I can't believe Platt hasn't answered David yet. I have been waiting
for this one since David rejoined....
