to paraphrase Pirsig " feeling comes before thinking ", we are aware of
events in our lives before we have had time to process this feeling into a
thought.

Feeling is sensing autonomically, it is not necessarily an emotion, which
themselves arise purely from thoughts.

Therefore your 4th Principle can never be right
