ERIN: I don't really understand your accusation John. I think Glenn is
demanding a scientific explanation of dharmakaya light and dissappointed
Pirsig didn't give it to him and then you ironically agree with Glenn but on
the basis Pirsig is trying to give a scientific explanation of dharmakaya
light. If you want to call it mere light (which is supposedly a scientific
phenomenon) or call it dharmakaya light (which is suppossedly a mystical
phenomenon) whatever--- in my opinion Pirsig tell us it's all the same when he
tells us "It's all good" (pg 389) In a Metaphysics of Quality, however, this
light is important because it often appears associated with UNDEFINED
AUSPICIOUSNESS, that is, with Dynamic Quality. It signals a dynamic intrusion
upon a static situation. When there is a letting go of static patterns the
light occurs. It is often accompanied by a feeling of relaxation because
static patterns have been jarred loose. He thought it was probably the light
that infants see when thier world is still fresh and whole, before
consciousness differentiates it into patterns."
