ERIN: I am not suggesting that. I am saying that holding terrorists
accountable is one thing and ignoring at the situation that leads to terrorism
is something else. You can treat both.

ERIN: I completely agree. I think that we need to change the system that
breeds terrorism and if that cost a little we should consider spending it. I
am not talking about handouts but whether the US is a little self-absorbed
then it should be. How we should spend the money is important to figure out,
because I do think that you are right that handouts may lead to a cycle of
victimology.
But that is different question then whether the US spending a "generous'
amount.

RISKY:
OK, I didn't realize NYC was a third world nation. Do hybrid engines count as
foriegn aid now?

ERIN:1) Very funny, it was just a comment on your accusation of his hypocrisy.
If you look at how much you earn and how much you give as aid (to anything you
think worthwhile). I think a weeks wages was reasonable.
2) You know the hybrid engine was in the context of consuming/conserving
resoursces and global warming so I won't bother to reply to that. That was a
little word twisting on your part Risky.
3) I disagree with Bill Maher on a lot of things but to your claim " calling
THE US cowards and the terrorists brave? " makes me see red.
a)I could not believe of the talk about taking him off the air or
other punishments. Do you have any respect for FREEDOM OF SPEECH !!!
        b) what he said and what you are trying to show he said are completely
different. Usually the lefties are the ones who are not seeing clearly because
they are being too sensitive this is a case just the opposite.

All Bill was saying was that we treat our soldiers as "ballerinas" so to
speak. Every other casuality is not equal to an American casuality.Maher
explained that he never implied that the U.S. military was yellow. He was just
angry at policymakers for not letting our warriors do their jobs. To be fair,
a review of the show's full transcript does reveal that the usually
lefty/libertarian Maher was hardly making a case for the terrorists. And his
comments were amplified by one of his guests, one-time Newt Gingrich groupie
Arianna Huffington, who's now a syndicated columnist. "...Let us not forget,"
said Huffington, "that many innocent civilians were killed when we bombed
Yugoslavia to rubble because we did not want to have a single American soldier
die. And we now have over 5,000 innocent civilians [actually over 6,000] die
because we were cowardly when it came to our military personnel."

You were complaining about everbody twisting around Betsy's words, geez talk
about the pot calling the kettle black--claiming that Bill called terrorists
brave. What a gross distortion, you should be ashamed!!!!!!1
