I agree this is an admirable goal, and as policy it is fine, making it a
law is untenable.

I just never understood the "right to life" argument. You murder
someone, have willfully terminated their "right to life", they have no
recourse, and a high-quality society should respond by limiting your
"right to liberty"; placing you in jail. You murder your fellow inmate,
society responds as before. You murder your jailer. At what point does
this high quality society start to value the lives lost more than they
do your "right to life"? And what are consequences of this message that
the high quality society is sending to its members while this process
ensues ? Reminds me of a refrain of an old pop song.... "Do it to me
one more time.. I can never get enough of ...?

....but surely not partly due to the unilateral tendencies of those who
would kill us and encourage theis neighbors to do likewise.

I can't speak for Rog, Risky, Squonk or others but not all of us are
fortunate enough to have names like Wim or Bo. I use an alias because
trying to carry on e-mail conversations in a group with several other
Daves generally leads to much confusion and sometimes animosity.
