I think it was Jung who stated that the more people in a society, the lower
the overall intelligence of that society. This is because society stifles
individuality in order to fit a norm which everyone can agree with. However,
I'm not sure if I would hold the individual above society in all cases.
Individuals are the source of DQ, but it is society that turns these bursts
of DQ into patterns that can be reproduced for new generations. Would
Einstein's ideas about splitting the atom ever have accomplished anything had
it not been for a society that could put them to use and make the atom bomb?
