Dawkins is correct on the relationship between quantum
physics and Eastern mysticism, but wrong on his
reasoning. There is a relationship because quantum
physics is teaching us (or at least some of us) that
there is no objective reality, that the primary
assumption that all of reality is divided into
subjects and objects is wrong, and part of the
philosophy of Eastern mysticism is what Lama Yeshe
calls "cultivation of the correct view." That
"correct view" is to disregard glasses of duality that
we habitually view reality through. The disregarding
of this view is essential in achieving the mystic
experience. So the relationship is more between the
philosophy's that are a precursor to understanding
both quantum physics and Eastern mysticisms, because
in Buddhism, the fundamental view that reality is
divided into subject and object is wrong, which is the
same thing that quantum physics is telling us, and the
same thing that Robert Pirsig is telling us.
