Hi Dave

Thank you for your comments. I queried RMP about researchers teaching great
apes to sign.
He seemed to feel there is no reason why they cannot react socially and
intellectually yet
those researchers may be seeing what they want to see. Any conjecture on the
future
of evolution seems to me to be just that, conjecture.
