I agree, but there is a difference between the distinctions we need to make
inorder to live and the distinctions that are made by average people
everyday. People create far more objects than what is needed to sustain
life, and this is at the cost of insight. Although Pirsig's grasp of
quality led him to burn himself and atrophy, many other mystics have seen
and understand a world before words and are able to continue with life. A
life full of joy and love that few of the unenlightened experience. Some
notion of self is nessicary for life (and by extention of self, also
notself, or objects), but self gets in the way of true appreciation of the
world (i say, going out on a limb, but i think this to be true and not to
much of a risk to venture to say). perhaps some balance can be struck, but
there is plenty of space i think between realizing a world that language
doesnt apply to and starving to death.

But i admit i dont know what that last line means, to be a grammar jerk, i
dont see a verb.
