Warmly welcome Gary.
I am impressed by your essay - would have been awe-struck had it
been presented ten years ago - but why is it that you ignore LILA where
the full-fledged Metaphysics of Quality is to be found? ZAMM is a
wonderful book and shows how Phaedrus/Pirsig came to conceive of
the the Quality Idea and the labours of its birth, but he says in LILA that
he made many false starts before hitting on the Dynamic/Static divide
and that the Romantic/Classic was one such. But this much said, you
make so many deep-probing and striking observation that I would have
loved to see your analysis of the MOQ proper. The Wilber comparison
is not my favourite as I think the MOQ is miles apart from his
newageism, but many have great admiration for him.
Yours most admiring
Bo
PS
I don't go into particulars at this stage, but as said this was one great
piece ...had it just been about the final version of the MOQ.
