Okay I will try and take a guess at this task but with the exception
that I don't think all imitation is
social level so don't consider this tornado entirely a social POV.
I think imitation- choice continuum could extend
biological-social-intellectual.
Point A - I put any species that demonstrate imitative behavior
Point B- I put human infants. The imitation infants show is similar to the
rat/pigeon etc style except they show more flexibility.
Point C- I put the toddlers and primates that pass something like the rouge
test. This is where they put lipstick on the baby's nose and
place them in front of mirror to see if they rub their own nose.
To me this is where imitation without self changes to imitation with self.
Point D- I put young children, clear sense of self-- girls imitating mommy and
boys imitating daddy
Point E-- I put adolescents here adolescents where self involves imitation of
peers, celebrities, etc. and I think adolescents do have more choice into
thier self concept here (so more choice)
Point F- I put adults. I think this is a whole other continuum.
The more intellectually influenced the more it is at the choice end
