You can tell I'm in a "catch up with the MoQ" sort of mood today....
If you could recommend a book (or even two) for Mr Pirsig to read, as he
considers if and whether to write another magnificent tome, what would they
be?
I would recommend two: the biography of Wittgenstein by Ray Monk, because I
think Wittgenstein stands in the same relationship to Phaedrus as Poincare
does, although in the direction of linguistic philosophy rather than
scientific method; and 'The Darkness of God' by Denys Turner, because he
manages to articulate what Western mystics were actually up to (and I think
RMP isn't aware of that).
