Hello all,(ps for Matt, Horse and Squonk)
I was wondering (as ever) about the social level, i have been thinking about
the integration of minorities in dutch society and came to the following i
am curious whether you think it makes some sense, I also have an very long
extended version but these are the main points:
Two battles going on:
* The battle between intellect and society
The individualised dutch society(in the greater cities) is a block for the
integration of foreigners, most foreigners have an islamic background which
focuses on society rather then on individuals. This creates a schism between
the two groups, there is no common ground.
* The battle between biology and society
The rural areas in Holland are the areas where the resistance against
foreigners is the greatest
People are scared for what is strange, the rural areas are more socially
based, with strong social control and to a lesser extent control by
religion. The rural people are fighting for preservation of identity and
culture and are frightened foreigners will bring chaos and disrupt their o
so precious culure. They see foreigners as barbarians trying to undermine
societal structure.
I have never thought about it like this, it seems that the social level is
attacked from up and from down,

Matt I too like what you have been posting lately(and in the past), though I
do not always agree with or understand you, I think your contribution has
been valuable so I see no reason why you should become a lurker but that's
your choice.
Horse,I think you can not help me but all my posts are coming in an
a-chronical order, that makes me kinda confused because I get the replies
first and then the original posts, is that a hotmail fault or something?
Squonk, what are you doing? Can't you see that all of your efforts to do
whatever it is you are trying to achieve are in vein? I have always been an
admirer of your input and always considered you to be an intelligent man
with quality as a guide but what you are doing lately I do not understand
and do not like. Is everything allright, you are starting to sound like a
grumpy old man? Have you been fighting monsters and became one yourself, did
you gaze in the abyss and is the abyss now gazing into you? Please stop the
stupid comments and start posting interesting stuff again, you do not have
to read mails you do not wish to read but if everybody here starts saying
everything what he or she dislikes it turns into an ad hominem warzone here!
Do not make me take my big poster of you of my wall please?
