Diana,
I am leaning against a tree, or a house, or a car, Your pick. I pick a
tree because it is alive and has a lifespan. Everything that has an
influence on me is grist for the DQ mill. This includes the tree.
I keep leaning against the tree until the seasons change. All of my
influences from whatever origin still are grist for DQs mill. The leaves
fall off the tree and are burned or decompose or whatever but they are
still grist for the DQ mill.
I continue to lean against the tree until it reaches the end of its
lifespan and decays. Still grist for the DQ mill along with all of my
thoughts and influences.
I continue to stand in that spot until the inorganic materials of the
tree turn into another tree or into grass or whatever. All is still grist
for the DQ mill. Still all of my thoughts and other influences are also
grist for the DQ mill.
In my understanding, all of my influences, be they subject or object are
grist for the DQ mill.
A person leaning on the other side of the tree is undergoing the same
experiences except from a little different perspective and with a different
subjective thrust. Both experiences go through a similar DQ mill. The
universe progresses. To me subjects or objects seem relatively unimportant
since all are a part of the same process and give similar results.
It is the process that is important, not the local conditions.
All of this is a process without a purpose.
We can hang our own purposes on this process if it makes us feel better
but it is not necessary.
We are still stuck with the problem of providing ourselves with a reason
for being here.We know that we can do that in any number of ways so why not
pick one that makes us feel good? Ken
