Subject: MD Dynamic Quality
hi, kilian:
you say that DQ might be:
Passion -- not in the romantic sense -- is
>energy, exaltation, freedom, intensity, pure, pure inspiration. I think
>that what I've always thought to be passion is really just DQ.
i keep saying that Nietzsche's Dionysiac principle reminds me very much of
Dynamic Quality. it is the irrational passionate wild strata where all
inspiration comes from...music, art, literature...all of it after being
given form by the Apollonian stems from that level. has anyone who had read
The Birth of Tragedy know what i mean?
you also add:
how do you interact with Dynamic Quality
>in your life? How do you make regular interaction a part of everyday
>living? Perhaps the biggest tradegy the SOM has prepetrated is its
>committment to the static and the dispassionate.
kilian, outside stimuli is not the provenance of DQ. the more you rely on
societal institutions, etc. to provide the dynamism in your life, the more
you will end up like Phaedrus. it is from within that it will come.
although, watching a glorious setting moon will remind you of it, it wont
create the changes in your life. the mechanism is internal, of that im
sure. why some people have more than others is something to think about.
others are perfectly happy not to think about metaphysics and think that our
musings are just a big escape from reality.
to each his own,
lithien
