Hi Fintan

FINTAN:
"So then I should not expose you to to the risk of any REAL or NEW philosophy
then. Isn't that what got Pirsig thrown out of the University. Same reason you
want to throw me out of the E-University Squad. If you were fair, then you would
welcome an articulate passionate Skeptic with open arms. Instead you describe
my posts as SPAM ?"

I don't want to throw you or anyone else out of the Squad. I'm one of those
Intellectual masturbators who believe in the right to freedom of expression. I
believe that Intellect is (generally) of higher morality than Society and that
freedom of speech is more important than social acceptability or conformity. I
made a suggestion, objected to your calling the MoQ crap (which I suspect you
declared in order to grab some attention) and questioned your motives for
remaining in the group. That's my right. As for welcoming you to the group, I
haven't done this explicitly but cast your mind back to your problems with getting
the tree diagram to post properly. I welcome the sceptic as happily as the non-
sceptic. I also trust the sceptic more than those who blindly accept the words of
others on faith alone. Scepticism and reason combined with intuition provide a
powerful tool.

FINTAN:
"FINTAN HAPPILY ANNOUNCES THAT HE IS AT LAST ENJOYING
HIMSELF AS HE DISCOVERS THE MOQ IS A PILE OF CRAP"

FINTAN:
"First, my MoM is grounded on MOQ concepts, or at least- in MOQ terms."

FINTAN:
"It's not seperate- it's an EXTENSION- albeit a major one."

So by reasoning from the above the MoM must be an even bigger pile of crap.
QED

FINTAN:
"I put it to all my critics that if I put my ideas forward without the passion
with which i do, that they would be lost in the intellectual masturbation
of the Squad. So, I boldly marked them out. Perhaps the vehemence
of the reaction to my daring to propose a NEW philosophy so boldly
is an indication that what I deride in the MOQ is indeed on shaky ground."

You pile insult upon insult and yet still expect others to give you a fair hearing.
Why should they? Would you walk into a bar in Ireland, announce that all those
present are as thick as two short planks and far too simple to have a valid opinion
and that you are the answer to their prayers so they'd better listen to you? If the
answer is yes give me the name of the local hospital and I'll send the flowers
there!
By your own admission the MoM is not completely new but an extension of the
MoQ.

Fintan, the Squad will give you a fair hearing and many will be happy to discuss
your ideas - myself included - if you would just stop overwhelming us with the
sheer quantity of posts. I like your poetry and your prose but I don't share your
religion or the beliefs that go with it. A few of your posts have been magnificent
and very funny. If you would allow time to the other members they will surely
discuss your ideas. If the MoM has quality it WILL be recognized, if it has quality
then you can afford to be be patient. If you can't be patient then try posting to the
newsgroups and bounce you ideas around there as well. But don't expect
courtesy when you refuse to show any.

And many others too I hope.

Finally, in reply to the 'Fine Arts' post, I've been a musician (although not a
particularly a good one) for nearly thirty years, I can't paint or draw to save my life
and my poetry makes the Vogons sound good. I also practise Iaido - the
Japanese Art (or is it Way, I can never remember) of Drawing the Sword. But the
only art I really want to perfect is to be a such a brilliant dad that my kids will
always love me. The rest is mere icing on the cake.

> Now i am off to DREAM OF ELECTRIC SHEEP.

Peace Fintan

It was as simple as that!"
