I'm not giving up, I just couldn't do it on my own and the rest of the
group seemed to have wandered off into other topics. We do seem to be
back on track now which is encouraging

I'm sure you have lots of good ideas and I appreciate that you want to
make the group better, but I hope you can also realize that we have
already taken some steps forward and and I wouldn't like to see these
latches ruined. I think the current structure is already good (well in
theory anyway). At the moment one topic of the month is selected for
each calendar month. Very simple, very easy to remember and understand,
which is important because new people are coming into the discussion all
the time. It allows for static, ie stick to the subject, but also allows
for dynamic, ie there's nothing stopping you wandering off the subject
if you really feel the need, and anyone is free to suggest a topic for
the month. It's true that the group doesn't always stick to it very
well, but enough people do and it's getting better. I would be very
skeptical about any structure more complicated than this one. It is hard
enough trying to get something simple going.
