Hi, guys.
I've read -some- Nietszche, and I don't think that the Dyo-Apollo
concept is much more than superfisually simmiler to DQ-sq or RQ-CQ (for
one thing it's not a metaphysical distinction... but then RQ-CQ isn't
either)...
If your intrested in getting into Nietzche, though, I'll have to do some
re-reading before I can say anything -too- for-certain. But, basically,
it's an aesthetic distinction -- similer to RQ-CQ which is
aesthetic/psychological... but it's not logic-vs-groovy, but rather it's
about the trancendent Absolute and the field of time/suffering (loss,
loss, loss...).

"Morality" is a great topic, but you must be very carefull how you
aproch it or it quickly degrades into politics and pedistals and
sope-boxes. (Is it just me: I've re-read their recent posts twice, and I
can't figure-out what Platt and Johnathan are arguing over exactly!?) The
question of what is the metaphysical nature of morality... Now THAT is
interesting. But... :-7

I'm curently reading Larry Shainburge's *Ambivolent Zen*. It's
very, very good. It emphicizes Zen as practice -NOT- as philosophy (as
Platt correctly brought up). I've felt for a while now that there are no
Eastern philosophies -- not the way we think of philosophy, anyway.
Also (inspiered by all this talk of art and Joyce I was doing)
I've been reviewing Joseph Campbell's lectures "The Wings of Art."
TTFN (ta-ta for now)
