ROGER REPLIES AGAIN TO ROB

Rob,

First, I suggest you light up that joint and have some fun tonight!

PAUSE

Now that you are in the proper mood, let’s continue………

Roger :
I agree. Something is really missing in Lila along this line. I think RMP is
much less an intellectualizer than Phaedrus. I think RMP would be fine with a
proper balance of drinking and smoking (not that I think either is mystical).
Moderation and balance and the Golden Mean??????

 Rob:

causes contradiction when it prejudges an experience. Instead of thinking
about
the intellectual level, I think it is better to let go. When one lets of an
idea
ideal or ism, knowledge remains.>>>>>>

Roger:
Einstein said something along these lines too I seem to remember. He could
never describe where ideas came from. It wasn't from that subjective
"already thinking" mode. Nishida would say it is all intuitive….all mystic.
I find this beautiful…….and I’m not even smoking!

Rob:
>>>>> Think about when you were totally immersed in a
movie. You might have been in a dynamic state such that you were unaware of
yourself completely. Still, did not you not mentally translate the words into
sentences? Did you not follow the plot? Knowledge and the intellect never
left.
The difference was the concluding mind becoming an open mind.>>>>>>

YES! Have you read "Flow" by Csikszentmihalyi yet? It is about this very
experience. The ability to think and lose all sense of the self at the same
time. Thought without pre-judgement.

Rob:
>>>>> "Has anyone felt deeply on a
moral issue, because of their intimate experience with it, only to find
themselves
changing their minds because they had not contemplated the levels?" I have
never
had this experience. I consequently, do not see much value in the
levels.>>>>>>

It helps me all the time. I am an executive. Every day I deal with
conflicting forces of people (myself included) who pursue their social goals
and balance these with the need for truth. I would be hopelessly adrift
without a firm grasp of how we all act out of different levels of quality.
All is good.

Be Good All

Roger

PS David -- I can't wait to rent Pi
