Hi Group,
In response to Rob's last post. I think that it is better to at least know of Pirsig's philosophy than not to know about it. Yes, by knowing this philosophy we encounter all kinds of complications, but we are the more wise for knowing it. This (for me) goes back to an old saying, better to be Socrates dissatisfied, than a pig satisfied.
