I would say that prayer is the connection, but I do not see where Pirsig
speaks of prayer in his works, other than the implicit reference to zen. All
religions seem to make use of prayer in some fashion to reach an
"enlightened" state. In this sense I am not sure that the MOQ is a
connection although Pirsig may have intended it to be. Can metaphysics and
prayer exist side by side? Metaphysics seems to focus upon the rational,
static side of reality while prayer is more of a "misty" concept, to use
Bill's word. Can a metaphysics be looked upon as a religion?
Best wishes
