Pirsig states that values create reality.
If this is true, then without values we could have no thoughts (e.g. no
curiosity to 'power' our thoughts.) Our hearts would stop (there would
be no 'value' in them beating.) Everything would instantly die. The
universe would have no 'value' in existing....it would instantly
collapse into....nothingness? (I remember once reading an experiment
where physicists created a vacuum in a box. When they looked inside with
instruments 'particles' were being 'created' out of 'nothingness.' Value
was creating the particles?)
Interestingly, 'karma' means the 'moral law of cause-and-effect.'
Supposedly the universe is 'powered' by karma, as least in some Buddhist
traditions. The universe is powered by morality...by value.
