ROGER RESPONDS TO THE APPARITION BO's RETURN ENGAGEMENT

Welcome back Bo (or in keeping with the new ghost persona is it"Boo"?)!

I am responding here, because it is now June and I am not the type of
ne'er-do-well that would risk sending in a late post, violating the LS rules
and getting bounced (inside joke).

'Boo'dvar wrote the following 6 quotes:

"There is no mind/matter division at all. No subjective creation of worlds by
amoebas or man ...... only by Value!"[and]

"IMHO, if one is to follow the
Q-idea to its natural conclusion it says that subject-objectivism is
no metaphysics to be thrown to the dogs, but a part of the MOQ and my
assertion is that it is nothing less but the Intellectual level
itself."[and]

"there's a reality outside of the subjective (mind), but it's
outside of the objective (matter) as well." [and]

"With the introduction of Intellect reality has grown to
its present four-dimensional size." [and]

"Rich asked about WHO does the experiencing and it sounds like a blow
to the MOQ if it requires an entity outside of experience to perceive
experience, but I insist: this is Intellect demanding itself to be
perceived as all of reality"[and]

"Intellect is an extremely valuable dimension that has given us our human
world." [end Bo qoutes]

Let me attempt a trial ballon based on your comments and upon recent
rereading of ZMM, where Pirsig refers to the external world as ghosts and
summarizes that ......"The world has no existence whatsoever outside the
human imagination."

So to synthesize what I think is an accurate representation of you, me and
Pirsig:

All four levels of static quality are encapsulated in the intellect. The
entire world of divided self and universe is an intellectual construct.
This, of course, does not mean that all is contained in mind. The intellect
is not the same as mind, and the mind is half the duality itself, not the
vessel that holds it.

But we still have the question of the intellect and how it is connected to
DQ, or pure experience. The only reasonable answer is to follow William
James' lead that THINKING is a form of pure experience. Thinking can be
experienced and is in the now, while thoughts are always static and in the
past.

Another critique of this idea may be that this means everything is just a
thought. This is half true in that EVERY THING is indeed an intellectual
construct, it sure as Hell doesn't mean that ALL is an intellectual
construct. Because thoughts are derived from DQ and DQ is all.

This then leads to a universe composed entirely of Quality, or DQ, where a
particular Quality event (referenced as thinking) creates the subjects and
objects that are then mistaken for the real world. The static patterns of
the world we know and categorize are just dim ghosts of the true undivided
and dynamic Quality.

Let me know your thoughts.

Roger
