I'm very new to both this group and LS (< 1 week). In case you're wondering:
Yes, I already know not to cross-post.
One purpose of my presence here is materialistic, in that I'm looking for
certain LILA material that his been most difficult to find. When the book
first came out, I saw that it was also released on audiocassette. Normally I
like to get audio-books because I have a mild reading disability which makes
it significantly easier for me to hear the words as opposed to reading them.
unfortunately, the price of the audiocassette version was prohibitive to me
at the time, so i settled for the paperback (which, of course, collected a
thin layer of dust before i finally got around to reading it and discovering
how great it was). some time later, when i went to acquire the book on
audio, i couldn't seem to find it anywhere. i have had no luck since. even
Amazon.com couldn't locate a copy for me even though they have it listed. as
such, I'd deeply appreciate information from anyone as to where I might find
these cassettes. Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide.
as an aside, i am amazed at all the time devoted hereon to policy "turf
wars." when i found the webpage and wanted to join up, i had no idea that
the majority of postings to my mailbox would be regarding picayune procedural
matters. i admit that even Pirsig in our beloved LILA describes his
"procedure" cards for organizing all his other idea cards. however, if his
ratio of procedure cards to substantive cards matched what I've seen so far
in this group, we'd probably still be waiting for the book to come out.
But what the hell do I know? I'm the new guy.
