dear quality metaphysicians: i apologize for my lengthy absence, but i've
been away learning to be an argumentative, competitive jerk (that is, at
academic debate camp) + amidst this discussion of experienced "Reality", i
recall an old greek philosopher (whose name i cannot) who laid on his back
on a quite un-cloudy day in athens and upon blocking out the sun with his
bare foot, yelled "see, my foot is as big as the sun!" (paraphrased) + with
all this pontification about empiricism (even of the quite "radical"
variety) i question how much we can trust our experience - if experience
forms "Reality", is my foot as big as the sun? + i apologize for asking a
loaded question - obviously i have my own slant (not necessarily the right
one), but i want to read others' replies first + great to be back :luv, kev
