Thanks for your answer! (and sorry for my childish English!)

That's very true! I understand as weel I can ...

> For example your interpretation of "created" was "mind creates patterns" mine
> on the other hand was "God creates", "Big Bang creates", or "Quality creates"
> (depending on your transcendental position) then "mind discovers patterns".

..but the word "created" is not a problem... it's quite the same in Italian. The problem could be "Pattern".
The Italian version of Lila translates Pattern with "Configurazione" (Configuration).

My English-Italian dictionary gives me this translation:
Pattern = Model, Example, Structure, Typical element.

I understand that a Pattern is not as an Individual: Pattern is something like Plato's Idea, a model on wich many individuals are formed. The difference is that in Plato Idea is reality, and individuals are shadows; in Pirsig at the contrary Dynamic Quality is the undefinable Reality, and patterns can be seen as:
1) the models used by DQ to become SQ.
or
2) the way we see how DQ became SQ

The 1st way seems close to the "discovered" answer.
The 2nd way seems close to the "created" answer.

(Am I right ?).

If Yes....
Why did I answer "yes" and "created"? Firstly, 'cause I wanted to answer something, and "mu" seemed to me an easy solution...

Secondly...
Surely I discover reality. Reality exists. But the way I file it in my head is completely personal. How can you be sure that the Yellow color I see is the same Yellow color you see? And also... there's an old philosophic question: when I think to a Unicorn, what I'm thinking to? Does that Unicorn exist? I can create a Unicorn only in my head, that is, I don't need reality to create new Patterns of my own.

In this way, I say that mind, intellect, MAN "creates" a pattern. It's a personal definition of something, real or unreal, derived from a quality event. If that pattern was not personal, we would agree on everything!

Am I SOMist ?
Am I Solipsistic?

I don't think so.....

Ciao.
Marco.

p.s.
(but Roger is American, or not?).....
