Platt,
I was struck by your statement of Pirsig's intentions. The only
difference that I would have is that I would say,"the world consists solely
of patterns of moral values driven by a creative force called Quality."
I am always put off by the narrow concentration on human concerns and the
application of Dynamic Quality to these narrow concerns to the detriment of
an overall view of the biosphere and the Universe as a whole. The Dynamic
Quality that emerges from such a viewpoint does violence, in my opinion, to
Pirsig's intentions. Ken Clark
Quote from Platt's message:

consists solely of patterns of moral values plus a creative force
called Dynamic Quality, and that from that initial assumption he
has given us a view of reality unlike any other ever presented
