Dan,
I started to respond to this point in an earlier post and my response got
unwieldy. I still have trouble with the statement that Quality and Truth
are different. The fact that I seem to be in disagreement with RMP himself
tends to make me think I'm wrong, but that doesn't stop me from figuring
out where I've erred and I've been thinking about it over the weekend.
Truth is the highest expression of the good at the intellectual level,
just as celebrity is the highest expression of good on the social level and
sex is the highest expression of good at the biological level.
This might seem to suggest that Truth=Quality, because after all, the only
tool we have in our search for understanding any of this, is our intellect.
Thus the highest Quality we can ever percieve is Truth. Truth=Quality.
But Truth is absolutely and necessarily static. The highest static quality
at the intellectual level.
Dynamic Quality is not static, thus different from Truth.
But do we not ask ourselves if the concept of DQ is "true"?
That's because we are wrestling DQ into intellectual form, which is
admittedly degeneracy.
Thus Pure Quality is on a higher level than intellectual Truth.
Have I got it right?

"Defining what something is not" is a perfectly acceptable definition for
anything.Just as "dark=no light" is a perfectly acceptable definition for
dark and really, the only one we have. If we can perfectly describle what
DQ is not, then we have defined what it is.
