Most of the recommended books were dry and dusty investment/financial tomes
but two are worthy of mention: "A Random Walk Down Wall Street" by Burton
G. Malkiel for those that are looking for a rational approach to
investments as opposed to the mania of day trading. The other book that I
previously mentioned, "Against the Gods" by Peter L. Bernstein is a well
written history of how society and individuals have assessed and measured
risk in their lives and commerce. Throughout the author is constantly
referring to how attitudes, beliefs and conventions prohibited or promoted
change. I suspect Pirsig would use Dynamic Quality against Static Quality.

I agree that including "Lila" was intriguing. It certainly caught my
attention but after reading ZMM again and taking on "Lila" I understand--or
at least for now I think I do.
