complicated either, suprisingly. If you don't choose to walk into
McDonalds, you don't ever have to confront the sight of death on a bun
served with a smile again. There is actually a wide world out there
whereby you can live from the earth in simple peace and harmony. The only
trouble is that while most everybody hates our culture, they continually
choose it over more primitive alternatives. So you'd probably be pretty
lonely. >>
But jc, is simply "choosing not to participate" in the techno-culture enough?
I don't think that McDonalds or Wal-Mart is the problem, and therefore I
don't think choosing not to go inside of them will solve the problem. Lots of
us here in America can live in gentle peace and harmony all of our lives. The
real question is, *should we* sit back and enjoy life when so many people in
the world are suffering and dying?
Sadly, "choosing not to participate" may be one of humanity's biggest
problems.
