    Hi John:

I've been informed by Jonathan who is a biologist and is currently
working on a therapy for spinal chord regeneration that brain cells are
not replaced over time like other cells. What you are born with is what
you get for life. So my question to you about how to explain the
permanence of memory when brain cells change is a dumb question,
based on an incorrect assumption. Please ignore the question if you
    haven't already.

My thanks to Jonathan for taking the time to correct my error.

    Platt
